A beautiful set of digital papers with a Japanese Intersecting Circles pattern in 250 colors.
This pattern with intersecting circles is very popular in Japan. In Japanese, this pattern is called Shippou or Shippo, and the repeating intersecting circles pattern is called Shippo Tsunagi.
Simple intersecting circles create a diamond pattern. In Japan, the Shippou pattern symbolizes the 7 treasures of Buddhism, precious stones and gems that are set in carved metal in a repeating pattern ("cloisonné" in French).
The intersecting circles form a chain pattern, called Shippo Tsunagi, the linked 7 treasures.
The 7 treasures are: Gold, Silver, Lapis Lazuli, Agate, Seashell / Pearl / Mother of Pearl, Amber and Coral (some of the treasures are sometimes replaced with another like Quartz or another precious gem).
The infinitely repeating intersecting circles motif symbolizes endless peace and happiness, it is a very auspicious design.
